Everhard MT14000 Fairmont Tongs are straight handle hand seamers for bending, flattening and closing seams in sheet metal. Everhard has made hand tools in Canton, Ohio since 1911, and Everhard's Quality System is ISO 9001:2015 Registered. The tongs are forged steel with a plated finish, then inspected by Everhard. The 3 inch wide jaws have a 1-1/4 inch throat depth and stamped 1/4 inch alignment graduations, so you can line up each bend at the same depth along the metal without measuring every time. The jaws close flat and stay square to the workpiece, so a bend comes out straight along its full 3 inch width rather than rolling off at the ends. The straight handle suits general bench and field sheet metal work. Use the MT14000 on standing seam and batten seam roofing, drip edge, valley and apron trim, gutters, flashing, HVAC ductwork and siding trim. Roofers, sheet metal workers, HVAC installers and gutter crews all keep a pair of tongs on the truck. Model MT14000 measures 9-1/2 inches overall.
